A lorry driver who used multiple tachographs and drove from the Netherlands to the UK with just a standard car licence has been fined £500.
The driver was pulled over by officers in Staffordshire at a static checkpoint yesterday. It was found that he had used multiple tachographs and did not have a licence to drive a lorry. On top of that, there were several issues with the lorry itself.
The multiple tachographs were naturally used to hide his breach of the obligatory drivers’ hours’ regulations. The police also found several roadworthiness problems with the truck and the trailer, so the driver was issued a £500 on-the-spot fine.
