Metro has announced the enhancement of its groupage services to France and Germany, aiming to improve speed, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The company’s French groupage services maintain regular and efficient departures, ensuring seamless distribution across the country.
Metro has also strengthened its presence in Germany, a major hub for European trade, with frequent departures, including into the Ruhr area, one of the country’s key industrial regions.
The company’s network of partners in both countries plays a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and reliable service.
Metro emphasises that beyond speed and cost, customer care is a priority. By selecting carrier and network partners in France and Germany who share their focus on communication and reliability, the company aims to provide a smooth shipping experience with timely updates and a door-to-door delivery service.
However, Metro highlights potential logistical challenges for businesses shipping to and from Germany. Recent enforcement of stricter border controls, aimed at addressing migrant activity, could impact freight traffic.
Additionally, from November 2024, UK passport holders will be required to register biometric details when entering the Schengen area, potentially leading to delays for trucks crossing from the UK into the EU.
