Previously, Gray has contributed to major projects for HS2, Network Rail, the Rail Delivery Group, and Transport for Wales. He has also been involved in more than 25 rail franchise bids.

According to DB Cargo, one of the initial projects under Gray’s leadership will be the implementation of a new end-to-end operating system designed to track products and monitor the customer experience from the initial enquiry through to delivery and invoicing.

Reacting to the news, Andrea Rossi, Chief Executive of DB Cargo UK, said:

“Mike has extensive knowledge and experience of UK and European rail, which is crucial for leading the digitalisation of our business. The increased use of digital and AI technologies is a key aspect of our ongoing transformation plan, aiming to enhance customer service, product innovation, and overall efficiency.”
