Eliminating empty runs in animal transport is the goal of Moober. This is the latest service on the online cattle sale platform, prepared by SellMyLivestock.

The Moober service is available to farmers throughout the UK. According to its creators, it will allow for the reduction of empty runs and consequently for increasing savings and lowering carbon dioxide emissions. As reported by the Yorkshire Post, the livestock industry generates a total of 10 percent of CO2 emissions in Great Britain. Farmers’ organisation National Farmers Union set an ambitious goal – zero emissions in agriculture by 2040.

The traditional way of organising transport is time-consuming and ineffective for both parties. The new platform makes farmers have access to a cost-effective, safe and regular transport solution at a competitive price throughout the country. This means a greener way of transporting livestock, as carriers will be able to plan their courses more effectively, ” Doug Bairner, CEO of Hectare Agritech, the mother company of SellMyLivestock , told the Yorkshire Post daily.

Moober, whose full name is SellMyLivestock Haulage, is based, among others, on the cooperation with the Haulage Exchange platform, which allows farmers to order and track the receipt of livestock purchased via the SellMyLivestock website.

After the purchase, buyers can ask for a transport quote and choose the date of pickup and delivery. They can also choose the carrier that is to carry out the transport. For the time being, approx. 50 transport entrepreneurs from Great Britain signed the contract with Moober.

Through Haulage Exchange, carriers will get 24 hours to submit an offer. Buyers will be able to choose the carrier whose services they would like to use.
