Due to urgent repairs, the Germany motorway towards Düsseldorf was closed to traffic yesterday. The A59 motorway towards Düsseldorf, on the section between Monheim and Düsseldorf-Garath, will remain closed until Saturday, 1 February, at 5 p.m. Roadworks are underway on this section, where cracked concrete slabs are being removed and replaced with an asphalt top layer.
Detours are marked
The A59 is currently serving as a bypass for the closed A3 near Solingen, so traffic is heavy on this stretch. A local bypass has been signposted and runs parallel to the motorway via Düsseldorfer Straße and Frankfurter Straße. Traffic jams are expected on these routes and other alternative roads to Düsseldorf during rush hours.
If possible, drivers should use the A542 and A3 bypasses and allow for longer travel times.
