The incident happened in the Ümraniye area of Istanbul early on Wednesday morning.
According to reports by DHA and CNN Turk, a truck driver simply parked his vehicle in the middle of the road and went for a sleep.
Onlookers concerned the driver could be in trouble called the emergency services, and some 2 hours after he is thought to have begun his nap, the driver was woken up by members of the local fire brigade.
Video footage of the emergency services arriving at the scene shows the driver was very much sound asleep.
Fire fighters knocked fairly solidly on the windows on both sides of the cab seemingly without waking the driver up. It wasn’t until the emergency services banged on the windscreen that the trucker eventually rose from the back of the cab.
The lorry driver was taken to hospital to check he had a full clean bill of health, and no issues were detected.
