French motorway service company VINCI Autoroutes have unveiled a new laundromat that offers truckers a short 30-minute-long washing cycle and SMS notifications.

The new coin-operated laundromat, which features two washing machines and a dryer, has been installed in the lorry park of the Reyran rest stop on the A8 motorway.

One of the washing machines holds up to 18 kg of clothes, with the smaller one able to hold 8kg. A short wash takes just 30 minutes, and the machine provides the detergent itself. Drivers can use the service day-and-night, every day of the week.

The machine “speaks” French, Italian, English, Polish and Spanish, reports French transportation portal Les Routiers. Drivers can also register their phone number so that the Laundromat will notify them via a text message when the washing or drying cycle has finished.
