The Düsseldorf start-up Roatel, specialised in providing accommodation for lorry drivers along the busiest motorways in Germany, opened a new micro-hotel located in Jessen (Saxony-Anhalt), on the premises of the Sprint petrol station on the B187 road, on January 24th.
There are a total of four rooms available at this location. Drivers also have access to showers, toilets, ATMs, a shop, a bistro and a restaurant, parking spaces and car washes 24/7.
Another Roatel, located in Busdorf in Schleswig-Holstein on the A7 motorway next to the Wikinger Land HGV park, is going to be opened in the next few weeks, the company added.
Roatel has set up 11 container hotels in 7 federal states in Germany since the start of the project in 2019. It plans to have 35 Roatels altogether in Germany by the end of the year with a European expansion scheduled for 2024.
