The Simon Hegele Group has announced that its shareholders have signed an agreement to sell 100% of the company’s shares to Nippon Express Holdings, the parent company of the NX Group.

The Simon Hegele Group, with a workforce of almost 2,800 employees, operates over 50 locations globally and has seen significant growth in recent years, increasing its turnover from €200 million to over €300 million within the past five years. The company provides a range of services to international clients in sectors such as healthcare, industrial, retail, and pharmaceuticals, focusing on complex supply chain solutions.

“We have been exploring various options for the sustainable future of our business. It was important to us to find a strategic partner with a complementary service portfolio and a strong international presence, who values our independence and agility,” said Stefan Ulrich, CEO of the Simon Hegele Group.

The acquisition is expected to generate synergies in areas such as global reach, service offerings, technical expertise, and regional knowledge. Ulrich highlighted the potential benefits for both parties, stating, “NX Group customers will benefit from our distinctive location structure in Germany, while we will be able to offer comprehensive end-to-end transportation solutions globally.”

Ulrich also emphasised that the current management structure of Simon Hegele will remain in place following the acquisition.

“This continuity fosters trust and offers new opportunities for business development, which we and our employees are excited about.”

The agreement was signed on 30 September 2024. Pending regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to be completed within the next three to five months.
