ORLEN Paczka started relatively late in creating its competition for InPost’s parcel machines. However, as the latest data indicates, Daniel Obajtek’s conglomerate has swiftly become a significant player in this market, surpassing even Allegro.
According to wirtualnemediapl, Grupa Orlen now operates 3,535 parcel machines, which is approximately 500 more than Allegro.
The Płock-based conglomerate also has nearly 10,000 Orlen Paczka points to support online shopping.
In terms of the number of parcel machines for sending and receiving parcels, InPost still leads the way. In April, Rafał Brzoska’s company reported having over 20,000 parcel lockers across Poland.
However, Greg Krupa of Last Mile Experts notes that the pace of Orlen’s growth is “truly impressive”. At the end of last year, Orlen had only around 1,800 such machines.
“Looking ahead, a significant question arises regarding how Orlen Paczka development plans will evolve, especially in the context of potential management changes. As a state-owned giant, Orlen’s strategic direction most probably will be influenced by the outcome of the upcoming elections and face significant shifts in leadership,” adds Greg Krupa.
