Police stop truck with insecurely-loaded beer barrels and defective brakes

During the inspection, officers discovered that the 22-tonne load of beer was not secured whatsoever.

The police also noticed that the lorry’s axle and brake system were damaged – so much so that there was a risk that the brakes could fail at any time. Officers add that the brakes were already severely limited in their effectiveness because some hoses were badly damaged and patched up with impermissible connectors.

As a result, the lorry could not continue the transport and the beer had to be loaded onto another vehicle.
