Primafrio says the new trucks will deliver fuel savings of more than 8% thanks to engine improvements. The new cabs are also designed to improve driver comfort with features like refrigerators and microwave pre-installations.

The lorries also come equipped with a fleet management system that allows for real-time tracking, performance monitoring, and emissions reporting. This system is said to help Primafrio reduce operating costs and improve overall fleet efficiency.

“This agreement with Scania is part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection,” said José Esteban Conesa, president of Grupo Primafrio. “These improvements will allow us to reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.”

Scania describes the relationship with Primafrio as a “trusted partnership” that has lasted 35 years.

The new Scania vehicles are also said to be more environmentally friendly. Primafrio drivers will receive specific training to maximize the efficiency of the new trucks, leading to further reductions in emissions and fuel consumption.

Primafrio says the acquisition of these new trucks is part of its annual fleet renewal plan, which is focused on improving efficiency, reducing emissions, and lowering maintenance costs. The company says this plan reflects its commitment to sustainability and sets a benchmark for the decarbonisation of the logistics sector.
