Remaining truck bans in Europe this August

Public holidays across Europe in the next fortnight mean a number of truck bans are in force on the continent. Here's a summary of what bans apply and where.

August 15th

Austria – from 0.01 until 22.00. The ban applies to tractors with trailers over 3.5 tons, trucks, as well as articulated vehicles with a GVW exceeding 7.5 tons.

Croatia – from 14.00 until 23.00

France – from 0.01 until 22.00. The ban applies to trucks and vehicle combinations with a DMC above 7.5 tons, with the exception of special vehicles and agricultural vehicles.

In addition to public holidays truck bans in France, there are also additional summer restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tons. These restrictions cover the entire road network in France and apply on August 13th and 20th from 7 am to 7 pm.

Luxembourg – from 0.01 to 21.45. The ban applies to vehicles with a DMC above 7.5 tons with or without a trailer.

Poland – from 8.00 to 22.00, vehicles and vehicle combinations with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 12 tons may not drive on the roads. We would like to remind you that summer traffic bans are also in force in Poland – on Fridays (from 18.00 to 22.00), Saturdays from 8.00 to 14.00 and Sundays (from 8.00 to 22.00).

Slovenia – from 8.00 to 22.00. The restriction applies to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations with a GVW exceeding 7.5 tons.

Italy – from 7.00 to 22.00 The prohibition covers heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations intended for the transport of goods with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes. In addition, during the summer season in Italy, traffic restrictions apply to the above-mentioned vehicles also on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (details in our article on Italian traffic bans ).

August 20th

Hungary – from 0:01 to 23.59. Applies to all heavy goods vehicles with a DMC above 7.5 tons.

August 29th

Slovakia – from 8.00 to 22:00. The ban applies to heavy goods vehicles with a DMC above 3.5 tons with a trailer or semi-trailer.
