Renovation of subsequent sections of German highways will start this week. Drivers can expect traffic jams on the A71 and A4.
Starting tomorrow, September 6, roadworks will be carried out on the A71 between Ilmenau-West and Ilmenau-Ost. This summer, due to high temperatures, the surface has been damaged in this section. The works will last probably until September 13. Only one lane will be available in each direction. Traffic jams are expected primarily in the morning and evening hours – reports the German transport portal verkehrsrundschau.de.
Renovation of A4 motorway
Roadworks will also start on the German A4 on September 10 (next Monday) and will last until the end of October. A section of the road between Apolda and Weimar towards Frankfurt will be renovated. There may be traffic jams during this rush hour.
This is the second renovation on the German A4. The section between the entries Hainichen and Beiersdorf towards Dresden is also being renovated. Until October 8, you can only use two lanes there.
