In a press release confirming the new service, the Polish operator said it offers not only “attractive rates and comprehensive service” on Scandinavian routes, but also a transit time of 2-4 working days.
Commenting, Piotr Szalkiewicz, director of international general cargo at Rohlig Suus Logistics, said:
“At SUUS, we regularly increase the number of road transport connections within Europe. We have recently launched new connections in the Iberian direction, and now we are betting on Scandinavia. We are aware of the growth opportunities provided by cooperation with countries such as Sweden and Norway, which is why we decided to form an alliance with the largest operator in the region. Cooperation with the leaders of individual markets allows us to increase our transport network and improve the quality of service.”
The announcement comes after the road transport operator recently opened a new warehouse in Szczecin to increase its operational capabilities in the region. Moreover, the company also acquired Expert, a Polish company that provides last-mile pallet deliveries, as well as additional services such as carrying and assembling furniture or installing household appliances and consumer electronics.
Marcin Grzelak, Regional Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics, believes the Szczecin base is ideal for international transports, adding: “We can transport the customer’s goods from the Far East, for example, by sea to Poland, carry out the customs procedure, store them in the Szczecin branch, and then transport them by road to Scandinavia, which is the final destination.”
Keen to sell its sustainability credentials to the Scandinavian market, Rohlig SUUS stresses that 14 out of its 25 warehouses have BREEAM certificates, while it also makes sure its vehicles are fully filled.
