sennder to open new office in Romania

Major European digital freight forwarder sennder is launching a new office in Bucharest, Romania. In doing so, the company says it is entering the market as the first digital freight forward provider in the region.

The company currently has 11 offices across Europe and the new office in Bucharest adds to sennder’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe with the Polish and Baltic offices.

“With more than 90,000 drivers and 25,000 transport companies, Romania is one of the fastest-developing logistics markets in Europe and an essential gateway between Central and Eastern Europe. sennder has been a first mover in the region launching Poland in September 2019 and the Baltics in May 2020. Since then, sennder has rapidly grown its presence, bringing its digital offering to increase efficiency and transparency in the region,” reads the company’s press release.

Commenting on the news, Tom Christenson, COO at sennder, said:

“We are excited to announce our expansion to Romania, one of the largest logistics markets in Europe. Opening this office is an important step to bring our vision of leveraging technology to lead logistics into a sustainable future within the region. As we grow our footprint across Europe, we continue to unlock opportunities for carriers and shippers, enabling more efficient and transparent road logistics in a complex and unpredictable market environment.

The company adds that it has plans to further expand the team in Bucharest from currently 11 to 40 employees by the end of the year. It is hiring across all positions, including HR, finance, and Sales.
