Toll rates on several Spanish motorways will be one-third lower from next year. In addition, the roads mentioned in the Royal Decree will be charge free during the night.

The Spanish Council of Ministers approved the Royal Decree on urgent road measures. It sets the toll rates on motorways whose management has recently been taken over by the state-owned Seiit company.

The change concerns the following highways:

– R-3, R-5, R-2, R-4, M-12, AP-36 between Ocaña and La Roda,

– Alicante bypass and AP -7 Cartagena-Vera.

Soon, Seiit will also manage AP-41 between Madrid and Toledo – then the rates will drop there.

The road tolls on the aforementioned sections will drop by about 30 percent compared to the current ones, from 15 January 2019.

In addition, during the night hours, i.e. between 00:00 and 6 am, the roads will be free of charge.
