Girteka recently announced that it is implementing a strategic transformation in response to the ever-changing logistics market.

To achieve agility and focus, the organisation expects to optimise roles and one of the first steps in this process is a potential reduction of 5-10% of office-based roles within the Girteka Group.

The company stresses that the redundancies will not affect drivers or maintenance staff.

The structural changes aim to improve customer focus, adaptability and cost efficiency to strengthen the organisation’s market position responsibly and sustainably, Girteka explains in a press release.

Key objectives include achieving economies of scale, improving operational efficiency and addressing the truck driver shortage.

The transformation will focus on road transport services and transport asset management.

In parallel, initiatives to ensure a stable driver pool will continue.

Key changes include the consolidation of the transport business to improve competitiveness, the launch of dedicated seafood logistics services under the Thermo-Transit brand, and the ongoing transformation of shared services and group structures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
