According to a recent survey conducted by marketing research firm Kantar Sifo, Circle K has the best sausage selection of any petrol station chain in Sweden.
The petrol station chain proudly proclaimed the news in a press statement on its website earlier this week, stating “a sausage break is a matter of course on the car journey and for Circle K the sausage is an important element in the overall menu.”
Circle K claims its sausages “always contain only meat from Swedish farms prepared and seasoned with care”. The company says it sells around 10 million sausages every year.
The survey found the petrol station’s sausages were ranked highly due to their “high meat content” and “fresh bread” among other things.
Responding to the results of the survey, Martin Stenberg, Circle K Sweden’s Food Category Manager, says the company’s “sausage investment” has paid off:
We had Kantar Sifo carry out this survey to see how our sausage investment is actually received by customers. And even if we went into the survey with the idea that we are the straw sharper than others with our sausage range, it is of course incredibly fun to get it confirmed, he says.
The online survey compared offerings at Circle K, OKQ8, Preem, Shell/Välkommen in and Sibylla. A total of 1165 respondents took part by visiting one of the chains, buying a sausage and giving marks for the overall consumer experience.
Unsurprisingly, the survey found that customers appreciate quality sausages and that they prefer a larger selection.
