The Chalmers University of Technology, located in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, has appointed the first ever Professor of Maritime Informatics.

The professor is none other than Mikael Lind of the Research institutes of Sweden (RISE), who has helped to shape the Maritime Informatics discipline along with other key figures in the sea freight industry.

Last Wednesday, Mikael delivered an online lecture via Zoom to provide students and others with an introduction to Maritime Informatics.

You can watch the entire lecture and the Q&A session via the YouTube video below.

Moreover, several texts on the maritime sector by Mikael and his colleagues can be found on our website here.

Naturally, we at Trans.INFO would like to congratulate Mikael on this appointment, and we look forward to hosting more of his articles in the future.
