AO.com has launched a massive recruiting project in the United Kingdom: the online electricians’ retailer is looking for more than 200 new logistics centre staff due to the booming demand for its goods during lockdown.

The retailer is set to hire 250 new staff at its logistics centre in Crewe, England, UK,  after expanding the capacity at the warehouse by 115,000sq ft. Like many online sellers who have seen a spike in demand over the last few months, AO has scrambled to expand capacity in order to fulfil a spike in orders.

Over the last quarter, it has increased its distribution centre space by 225,000sq ft (20 903.184 sq metres) and has plans to open another warehouse in Stafford this month.

“We’ve been quick to adapt to meet increased customer demand and we’re investing in the future, adding more space and hundreds of new, quality jobs for people in Cheshire and Staffordshire,” AO’s managing director of logistics David Ashwell said. – “We’re proud to be a growing local employer with a history of creating careers in a phenomenal business where the sky’s the limit.”
