Here is the summary of the most important traffic bans in December. This time, due to the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Eve, traffic bans will apply in almost all European countries.

Austria

Due to the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Beloved Virgin Mary celebrated in Austria, traffic ban applies to trucks without a trailer and tractors with a GVW above 7.5 tonnes on December 8 from 0:00 to 22:00. In addition, you must take into account the holiday bans: – December 25 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 0:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 0:00 to 22:00.

Croatia

The December prohibitions in Croatia apply to all vehicles and sets with a GVW above 7.5t on: – December 24 from 15:00 to 23:00, – December 25 from 14:00 to 23:00, – December 26 from 14:00 to 23:00, – December 31 from 15:00 to 23:00, – January 1 from 14:00 to 23:00.

Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, bans for trucks and sets with a GVW above 7.5 t apply – December 24 from 13:00 to 22:00, – December 25 from 13:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 1:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 13:00 to 22:00.

France

The traffic ban for trucks includes vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 tonnes. They will not be able to travel on French roads: – December 24 from 0:00 to 24:00, – December 25 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 31 from 0:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 0:00 to 22:00.

Germany

On German roads, on holidays, heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 t and lorries with trailers are prohibited. The restrictions apply: – December 25 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 0:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 0:00 to 22:00.

Hungary

In December trucks and sets with a GVW above 7.5 t in Hungary cannot perform transport: – December 24 from 22:00 to 24:00, – December 25 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 0:00 until 22:00, – December 31 from 0:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 0:00 to 22:00.

Italy

In Italy, on December 8, drivers will face a driving ban associated with the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Traffic restrictions will apply from 9:00 to 22:00. In addition, December traffic bans will apply on: – December 25 from 9:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 9:00 to 22:00.

Liechtenstein

In Liechtenstein, the restrictions on driving apply to heavy goods vehicles with a permissible vehicle weight above 3.5 t, and for sets with a permissible GVW above 5 tonnes. Drivers can already expect traffic bans on 8 December. Due to the celebrated feast of the Immaculate Conception, traffic is not allowed on that day. Due to the upcoming holidays, prohibitions will also apply: – from December 25 from 0:00 to 26 December to 24:00, – 30 December from 0:00 to 24:00, – 1 January from 0:00 to 24:00.

Luxembourg

Drivers of heavy goods vehicles and sets with a GVW above 7.5 t, going to Luxembourg in December, must face difficulties: – December 24 from 21:30 to 24:00 – ban on all roads towards France, and from 23:30 to 24:00 – ban on all roads towards Germany, – December 25 from 0:00 to 21:45 – both towards France and Germany, – December 26 from 0:00 to 21:45 – both towards France and Germany, – December 30 from 0:00 to 21:45 – both towards France and Germany, – December 31 from 21:30 to 24:00 – ban on all roads towards France, and from 23:30 to 24:00 – ban on all roads towards Germany,, – January 1 from 0:00 to 21:45 – both towards France and Germany.

Poland

Vehicles and vehicle combinations with a maximum vehicle weight exceeding 12 tonnes, excluding buses, cannot travel on roads in Poland on – December 25 (Christmas) from 8:00 to 22:00, – December 26 (the second day of Christmas) ) from 8:00 to 22:00, – January 1 from 8:00 to 22:00.

Slovakia

December traffic bans for heavy goods vehicles and sets with a GVW above 7.5 t in Slovakia: – December 24 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 25 from 0:00 to 22:00, – December 26 from 0:00 to 22:00, – 30 December from 0:00 to 22:00, – 1 January from 0:00 to 22:00.

Slovenia

Holiday traffic ban in Slovenia for trucks with a GVW above 7.5 tonnes will apply: – December 25 from 8:00 to 21:00, – December 26 from 8:00 to 21:00, – 1 January from 8:00 to 21: 00.

Switzerland

December traffic bans for trucks with GVW above 3.5 t apply from December 25 from 0:00 to 26 December to 00:00.
