Traffic bans on trucks in June

In June, many European countries celebrate Pentecost and Corpus Christi. Check when, where and how traffic bans for trucks apply.

Pentecost is celebrated on 9 June, Sunday, but in some countries, 10 June, Monday is also a bank holiday. On this day, traffic bans for trucks will be in force. On 20 June, it is the Christian feast of Corpus Christi. In addition, Croatia and Slovenia celebrate their national holidays in June.

The bans related to the holidays are as follows:

June, Saturday (the day before Pentecost):

France – from 22 to 24, the ban on traffic for trucks and vehicle combinations with a DMC above 7.5 tons,

Luxembourg – from 21:30 to 24 in the direction of France and from 23:30 to 24 in the direction of Germany (Saturday ban). The limitation applies to trucks whose DMC with or without a trailer exceeds 7.5 tonnes.

Poland – from 18 to 22. The ban covers heavy goods vehicles with a DMC above 12 tonnes. However, they do not apply to trucks returning from abroad,

Hungary – from 22 to 24 there should be no trucks on their roads, tractors with DMC trailers above 7.5 tons.

9 June, Sunday – Pentecost:

Austria – from 0:00 to 22 – Sunday traffic ban applicable to tractors with trailers with a tractor or trailer DMC above 3.5 t, lorries, articulated vehicles with a DMC exceeding 7.5 tons,

France – from 0:00 to 24:00,

Luxembourg – from 0:00 to 21:45 (Sunday traffic ban),

Germany – from 0:00 to 22 (Sunday traffic ban). The German roads will not be able to move trucks with a DMC above 7.5 tons and trucks with trailers at that time,

Hungary – from 0:00 to 22.

10 June, Monday – Pentecost:

Austria – from 0:00 to 22,

France – from 0:00 to 22,

Germany – from 0:00 to 22,

Hungary – from 0:00 to 22,

Italy – from 0:00 to 22 on the Brenner motorway. The ban applies to heavy goods vehicles with a weight of 7.5 tons.

19 June, Wednesday (the day before Corpus Christi):

Croatia – from 15 to 23. The prohibition applies to heavy goods vehicles and trucks with a DMC of over 7.5 tons and trucks and vehicles with trailers exceeding 14 m in length. Valid on specific sections of roads that you can find in our article on this topic.

Luxembourg – from 23:30 to 24 in the direction of Germany.

20 June, Thursday – Corpus Christi:

Austria – from 0:00 to 22,

– Croatia – from 14 to 23 (only on specific routes),

Luxembourg – from 0:00 to 21:45 in the direction of Germany,

Germany – from 0:00 to 22. The ban only applies to the following Länder: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hessen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland,

Poland – from 8 to 22,

Italy – from 0:00 to 22 on the Brenner motorway.

21 June, Friday:

Croatia – the day before the public holiday – from 15 to 23 (the ban applies on certain routes).

22 June, Saturday:

Croatia – Antifascist fight day – from 14 to 23 (only on certain sections),

24 June, Monday:

Croatia – the day before the public holiday – from 15 to 23 (only on certain sections),

25 June, Tuesday:

Croatia – national holiday of Croatia – from 14 to 23,

Slovenia – Independence Day – from 8 to 21. The ban covers heavy goods vehicles and vehicle sets with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 t and is only valid for certain sections .

Holiday traffic bans in Poland

Let us remind you that from June 28 to September 1, summer traffic bans for trucks apply in Poland. Trucks over 12 tonnes can not travel on Polish roads during the following periods:

Fridays from 18 to 22,

Saturdays from 8 to 14,

– on Sundays from 8 to 22.
