The Hungarian Ministry of Construction and Transport has announced a partial suspension of heavy vehicle traffic restrictions in connection with the national holiday on 23 October.

Truck bans are usually enforced on weekends and holidays. However, although Wednesday is a public holiday in Hungary, the HGV ban will be suspended from 22:00 on Tuesday 22 October until 06:00 on Wednesday 23 October. During this period, affected vehicles will be allowed to travel on domestic roads.

This means that the lorry ban will be in force from 06:00 to 22:00 on 23 October 2024.

(Normally, HGV restrictions would apply from 22:00 on 22 October to 22:00 on 23 October).
