In the Irkutsk region (Russia), lying about 180 kilometers from the border with Mongolia, the truck driver lost an unusual charge – TNT, or a strong explosive. As it turned out, the trailer door opened while driving and boxes with the dangerous material fell out.

The incident took place on the Ust-Kut route (a city in the Irkutsk region) – Lensk (a city in Yakutia). The truck was transporting the explosive to a nearby oil field. Most of the boxes have been recovered, but five of the 90 kilograms of TNT have not been found yet.

According to the police, explosives could be taken by other truck drivers passing by. If that’s the case, the services are hoping to track them using the GLONASS system, which records the location of vehicles.

Interestingly, the transport of the explosive was carried out by Geotek, which did not have the license to carry such loads nor required trucks.

According to a press release, this is not the first time that explosives have been lost in this region.
