In an attempt to avoid trouble, a trucker on Norway’s E39 stopped his vehicle 100 metres before a road police inspection site. Inspectors from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration nonetheless became suspicious, and after the driver was told to reach the checkpoint, multiple violations were found.
Reports from the Norway suggest that the driver of the foreign lorry took a longer break in front of the checkpoint in the hope that the inspectors would eventually pack up and go.
It didn’t happen though, and the driver of the truck was instructed to drive to the checkpoint. Once there, the following violations were detected:
- The truck was 2000 kg overweight, which resulted in a fine of 6,050 kroner to the owner of the vehicle.
- Several technical deficiencies were found on the vehicle
- The driver’s driver’s license was not valid
- The cargo, which was 30 tonnes with plasterboard, was loaded without any kind of securing measures
The driver will now be prosecuted for the last three of those violations.
