Road police operating in the Steinfurt area have docked 2 points from the licences of 5 drivers who were guilty of making  “dangerous reversing manoeuvres” on the B70 near Rheine. The drivers are all expected to be fined €200 and given a one-month driving ban.

As the police have explained, due to the construction at the junction Rheine-Nord, drivers coming from Lingen can only drive towards Neuenkirchen.

On Friday, within half an hour of the police checks, officers spotted five drivers turning between Rheine-Nord and Bentlage/Zoo on the B 70 to be able to drive to the Rheine-Nord commercial area.

In a statement, the local police said they “urgently warn against such dangerous driving manoeuvres”. Drivers have been instructed to leave the federal road at the Bentlage/Zoo junction and at the roundabout there, drive back on the B70 towards Rheine-Nord instead.

The five drivers identified on Friday now expect a fine of €200, 2 points on their licences and a one-month driving ban.
