The drivers of cars of up to 7.5 tonnes are advised to drive across the St. Bernard Pass. It is possible, as long as the road is not covered with snow” – says Lehmann.

The detour extends the drive by about half an hour. The vehicles of over 7.5 tonnes are directed to the Simplon Pass.

The Great St. Bernard Tunnel is located on the Great St. Bernard Pass in the Western Alps, at the Italian-Swiss border. It is a part of 328 km E27 Route, which goes from Belfort in France, across Switzerland, to Aosta in Italy.
