Volvo’s leadership position applies to heavy trucks weighing 16 tonnes and above, according to the company.

“We are very proud to be the market leader in Europe. This is clear proof that our customers appreciate the fuel efficiency, safety and uptime of our trucks,” said Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm.

The company also noted the impact of its FH Aero range, launched in 2024 and available in electric, gas and diesel versions. Alm described these models as “outstanding”, noting that they have quickly gained popularity with transport operators seeking to reduce CO2 emissions.

Beyond Europe, Volvo Trucks reported market share growth in 25 countries. In Brazil, the company retained its position as the leading heavy truck brand for the third consecutive year, reaching a 23.7% market share. In Australia, Volvo’s share stood at 18.2%, while in North America, including the United States and Canada, it recorded a market share of 10.5%.

Alm attributed Volvo’s performance to a full renewal of its global product range in 2024. He also highlighted the launch of a new platform in North America, beginning with the Volvo VNL, which offers up to 10% improved fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor.
