The Hungarian logistics giant Waberer recorded great results last year. It partly owes them to the acquisition of the Polish company LINK.

According to the Hungarian agency MTI, Waberer’s revenues increased by 18 percent up to 674,4 million euros in 2017. Gross profit increased by 17 percent reaching 140,6 million euros. In turn, the operating profit before the deduction of taxes and interest (so-called EBIT) jumped by 56 percent up to 26,7 million euros. Both the acquisition of the Polish LINK company and the good market situation contributed to such good results.

Director-General Ferenc Lajkó said that the company currently has 4,3 thousand vehicles and plans to grow its revenue „through organic and inorganic expansion, supported by efficiency gains and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.” Waberer is also expanding the customer base by targeting the auto-moto and e-commerce sectors.

„In the regional segment, we remain focused on consolidating our position in the region through further value-accretive acquisitions” – he added.

Lajkó said that this year he expects a similar rate of annual growth as in 2017.
