Motorway webcam footage shared by the state roads authority in the Netherlands captured the scene at the accident. According to the roads authority, the disruption caused by the accident was minor due to the fact the roads were very quiet at the time.

In a statement, the state roads authority said that the special transport was travelling on the A1 in the direction of Apeldoorn when it took the exit heading onto the A50 southbound.

Things went wrong on the bend, resulting in load falling down the embankment. Fortunately, nobody was injured and no other vehicles were caught up in the accident.

A temporary road closure had to be put in place while the load was recovered and lifted back onto the trailer.

Repair work will also have to be carried out on the repaired barriers. It is hoped that the clean operation will be completed by noon today.
