A report on Bloomberg’s website suggests that XPO Logistics are once again turning their attention to the sale of their European Supply Chain business.
Bloomberg claim to have heard from “people familiar with the matter” that the sale is back on XPO Logistics’ agenda.
XPO Logistics’ European Supply Chain business is centred on contract logistics, and could net the American multinational transportation and contract logistics company between $4 billion and $4.5 billion if sold – according an anonymous source from within the company.
It is reported that XPO Logistics have contacted potential private equity and strategic buyers in the last few weeks, but the company have yet to make a final decision on whether to sell its European business.
XPO’s corporate headquarters are located in Greenwich, Connecticut; their European HQ is in Lyon. Last year the company generated an operating income of $821 million, while their assets were valued at $14.13 billion in the same year. The firm operate in 30 countries and currently have over 100,000 employees on their books.
