The vehicle will replace a combustion engine truck previously used for daily shuttles between XPO’s warehouse in Parçay-Meslay and SKF’s plant in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire.

XPO manages logistics for SKF in France, including a 6,000 m² dedicated storage area within a larger 24,000 m² facility. The new electric truck is part of a broader initiative by XPO, which plans to integrate 105 electric tractor trucks and 125 electric rigid vehicles into its European fleet by the end of 2026. These vehicles produce no direct CO2 emissions and also reduce noise and odour pollution.

“The longevity of our collaboration with XPO Logistics is the result of a partnership based on trust. Together, we have succeeded in implementing logistics solutions that not only meet our needs but also aim to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Integrating this electric tractor truck is a further step in this direction, and a source of pride for our teams,” said Franck Debrailly, SKF Logistics Director for France and Italy.

SKF, aiming for carbon neutrality across its supply chain by 2050, has implemented various sustainability measures at its Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire site. These include solar panels, a biomass heating system, and energy-efficient logistics facilities, which have already cut CO2 emissions by 4,000 tonnes.

Both companies emphasized their shared commitment to sustainable logistics. Bruno Kloeckner, Managing Director of XPO Logistics France, highlighted the partnership as an example of innovation and responsible growth, while Franck Debrailly, SKF Logistics Director for France and Italy, described the collaboration as a trusted relationship driving environmental progress.
