Less than a year after the HHLA subsidiary METRANS Group took over 51% of Adria Rail, the Croatian company has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the METRANS Group.

Adria Rail operates intermodal trains to, from, and through Croatia. It has been the intermodal operator of the trains connecting the Rijeka container terminal in the Adriatic Sea to its terminal in Indija, on the outskirts of Belgrade in Serbia.

Adria Rail covers over 70% of container traffic departing from the Brajdica Container Terminal in Rijeka.

The acquisition also includes the Indija terminal in Serbia, which becomes the 20th terminal in the METRANS network. Through regular trains heading to and from the Indija terminal and the Budapest HUB terminal, METRANS can provide connectivity across Europe.

With a fleet of METRANS wagons, soon to be joined by METRANS locomotives, and more than 40 trucks in Serbia, Adria Rail operates in the same way as other METRANS operations. This ensures that METRANS customers receive top-quality services, no matter where in Europe they order METRANS services.

On this occasion, Adria Rail has also unveiled a new logo, aligning with the group’s visual identity.
