50 new trailers: another fleet renewal at Waberer’s

With an investment of almost €2 million, the Waberer's Group has modernised its fleet with 45 three-axle and 5 two-axle Berger trailers. According to the company, the lower unladen weight and higher load capacity will help to reduce fuel consumption, thus enabling more economical transport with lower emissions.

Waberer’s Group has already replaced a significant number of its semi-trailers in recent years, and the current acquisition is a further step towards modernisation and efficiency, the company said in a press release.

Since 1994, the Berger Group’s lightweight semi-trailers have been among the lightest and most loadable semi-trailers on the market. The newly purchased semi-trailers, with their lower unladen weight and higher load capacity, indirectly contribute to reducing emissions, as more products can be transported per trip, Waberer’s adds.

In addition, the lower weight of the light loads’ results in lower fuel consumption, so the Berger Ecotrail trailers also contribute to the Waberer’s Group’s climate targets.

Berger Ecotrail trailers in the 3-axle version are capable of transporting loads heavier than 30 tonnes, such as bridge elements.

“The secret of the extreme load capacity lies in the choice of materials and the highest quality of workmanship,” says the press release. The trailer is made of special S700 steel with an elastic limit of 700 N/mm². Its floor can support a forklift load of up to 7 tonnes and its point load capacity is extremely high, allowing it to safely transport steel coils of up to 28 tonnes and 1.5 metres in length.
