A week of increased controls in Europe. TISPOL checks trucks and buses

Until Sunday, February 24, as part of the Truck & Bus operation, the European Traffic Police Organization – TISPOL conducts enhanced road inspections.

Police officers will check the drivers’ compliance with norms regulating work and rest time. They will also control the technical condition of vehicles and proper securing of cargo.

The Truck & Bus operation serves educational purposes. In addition to punishing violations, officers will inform drivers about the dangers associated with the lack of fastened belts. Also, police officers will alert drivers to the growing problem of distraction while driving. Therefore, as TISPOL announces, unauthorised use of mobile phones while driving will also be controlled and punished.

The campaign is conducted in countries belonging to TISPOL: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain, Estonia and Italy.
