According to the East Lewisham police department, officers were called to Brownhill Road due to an HGV driver “being asleep in the middle of the road”.

It later emerged that the driver had tested positive for cocaine. In addition, officers found that the load the driver’s lorry had been hauling was not secured at all.

As a result, the driver was arrested and taken into custody.

After the news was posted on social media, many Twitter users commented on how the vehicle appears to be from a Kent-based haulage firm with a long history, in turn sparking speculation about the company’s alleged decline.
