Preparation of a meal by a truck driver in the Port of Antwerp could have ended in tragedy. The fire started to consume the transported cargo, and the injured trucker had to be taken to hospital.
During the barbecue, for unknown reasons, the vehicle’s cabin caught fire. Soon afterwards, the fire started to spread to the cargo as well. As a result, a pallet with milk powder burned away. Luckily, another driver came to the rescue and managed to pull the semi-trailer away from the fire, reports nieuwsblad.be.
However, the unfortunate owner of the truck suffered burn injuries and had to be transported to hospital.
It is fortunate that his lack of imagination did not lead to a greater tragedy.
