In a LinkedIn post concerning the order, Waberer’s highlighted the DAF XF’s larger windscreen, as well as its camera and advanced blind spot monitoring system.
The company believes DAF’s Direct Field of View System, which uses cameras mounted high on the cab instead of main and wide-angle mirrors, will ensure its drivers have a good view in all weather conditions.
As Waberer’s explains, the monitors are located to the left and right of the cabin interior. In addition, DAF Corner View can be used as a replacement for blind spot and front mirrors and significantly increases the field of vision compared to conventional systems.
The logistics firm’s international fleet will receive 300 of the new vehicles, with the remaining 50 going to regional subsidiary WSZL.
