Copenhagen-based Spirii and Amsterdam-based ZE Ports have launched a new subscription-based service designed to simplify the electrification of heavy-duty transport fleets. The offer includes electric trucks and buses, charging infrastructure, renewable electricity, maintenance and insurance – all covered by a fixed monthly fee calculated per kilometre driven.
The service aims to lower the financial and logistical barriers to fleet electrification, which include high upfront investment costs, a lack of charging infrastructure, and complex operational planning. Under the new model, ZE Ports finances and provides the vehicles and charging infrastructure, while Spirii is responsible for installing and managing the charging systems.
The two companies claim that the offering could reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) per kilometre compared to operating diesel vehicles. For example, they estimate that a fleet of 35 electric trucks operating 11 hours per day could save up to €11.7 million in total – around €336,000 per vehicle – throughout operations.
The monthly fee includes access to renewable energy, charger maintenance, battery recycling, and other operational services. Pricing is set at approximately €0.90 per kilometre for electric trucks and €1.27 for e-buses.
Mauricio Sardi, CEO and Founder of ZE Ports, said the model is designed to allow transport operators to switch to electric without owning or managing the infrastructure themselves.
“We invest in e-trucks or e-buses, infrastructure, and renewable energy, and offer it all for a fixed monthly fee,” he said.
The new service is available across European markets, though no specific clients or rollout locations have yet been announced.
