Covering a total area of 76,000 square metres, with 10,500 square metres of terminal space and 119 loading bays, it is DB Schenker’s largest land transport site in Germany, setting new standards in efficiency and performance. The new facility also includes 3,519 square metres of office space. A modern yard management system ensures precise monitoring and control of logistics processes, according to DB Schenker’s press release.
The site serves as a central hub for south-west Germany, France, and other European countries. Thanks to its strategic location, transit times are reduced and transport processes made more efficient – especially for groupage, part-loads, and full truckloads.
Ralf Többe, CEO of DB Schenker’s DE/CH Cluster, highlights the strategic importance of the new site:
“With the modernisation and relocation of our Saarland branch to Neunkirchen, we are once again enhancing the capacity and strength of our already highly efficient European land transport network. This positions us well for further growth in Saarland, across France, and in other parts of Europe.”
Sustainability is a particular focus: the site features charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, a photovoltaic system, and has been certified to the DGNB Gold Standard.
Around 300 new jobs are being created locally. The development highlights Neunkirchen’s importance as a business location.
“DB Schenker is making a long-term investment in our city – this strengthens the region,” said Mayor Jörg Aumann.
With the new hub, DB Schenker continues to expand its market position as a leading European logistics service provider.
