The sale had already been planned for the third quarter of 2025. The new owner is UTAC, LLC, whose main shareholders include USA Truck CEO George Henry, former CFO Zachary King, and former CEO James Reed, who will remain with the company in an advisory role.
USA Truck is one of the larger transport companies in the United States. Founded in 1983, the company currently operates a fleet of around 1,800 tractor units and approximately 6,000 semi-trailers. Management remains unchanged, with George Henry continuing as CEO, while Zachary King will support the acquisition process in his role as CFO.
The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Significance for the transport market
The sale of USA Truck marks the company’s return to the market as an independent operator. In practice, this may result in greater operational flexibility and a stronger ability to respond quickly to changing transport conditions in the United States.
DSV’s decision forms part of a broader strategy to optimise its organisational structure and focus on key business segments. Industry analysts note that such moves are common among global logistics groups and are typically aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Return to independence: an opportunity for USA Truck
USA Truck’s renewed independence may benefit both the carrier and its customers by allowing for more flexible fleet management and a closer alignment of services with the needs of the local transport market.
