Spain’s national postal operator, Correos, has announced that another 3 electric motorcycle have joined the company’s fleet – making it 700 in total. The company also recently added 100 electric vans to its fleet and will soon take reception of 100 electric three-wheeled vehicles.

Besides being electric, Correos stresses that its new motorcycles are also “cybersecure”.

By this, the company explains that the motorbikes contain security mechanisms that prevent tampering that can result in batteries overheating among other things.

In addition, the motorbikes, which have a range of 120km, can be tracked for delivery visibility and theft prevention.

Correos says the latest additions to its electric fleet have consolidated the company’s position as having one of the largest electric and “zero-emission” fleets in the distribution sector in Spain.

The company’s goal is to have half of its fleet powered by alternative technologies or fuels by 2030.

By the end of 2023, Correos says it will have 2,800 “ecological vehicles”, including 2,506 electric vehicles and 310 hybrid or ECO vans.
