Following the launch of Ford Trucks in Germany in 2021 and Austria in 2022, the truck manufacturer is now announcing its market entry into Switzerland. This move is a key component of its growth strategy for Western Europe. With this step, Ford Trucks is finalising its restructuring in the DACH region.

BF Import AG, a subsidiary of the Auto AG Group, will take over the entire import, sales, and service operations for Ford Trucks in Switzerland, as announced in a press release.

“We are delighted to be working with BF Import AG to expand our presence in Europe. Our strategy is centred on delivering exceptional value and efficiency to our customers in key markets such as Switzerland. As a brand at the forefront of future mobility, we are committed to using advanced technology to improve the business processes of our Swiss customers,” said Emrah Duman, Vice President of Ford Trucks.

Initially, Auto AG Truck is relying on a network of five locations in Switzerland: Staad, Weiningen, Rothenburg, Uetendorf, and Mezzovico. This network is set to expand with additional locations in the following year.

A key component of the partnership is the introduction of Ford Trucks’ first electrically powered truck in Switzerland, the F-MAX, as well as the new F-Line series, which recently celebrated its German premiere.

With its high potential for electromobility, Switzerland is expected to play a pioneering role in the market launch of these vehicles. Series production of the electric lorries is planned for 2025.

Ford Trucks’ strategy for the future

The company plans to continue its growth strategy in the Nordic countries through 2029. Ford Trucks has committed to achieving zero-emission production of heavy commercial vehicles by 2040, aiming to minimise the impact of climate change. The focus is on electrification and the further development of hydrogen engines.
