France partly lifts truck traffic bans for 2 days

Although the French government did not extend the relaxation of traffic bans imposed on coronavirus after the end of April, it has decided to loosen these regulations during the next two public holidays.

According to the French government website, truck bans will be lifted for the next two holidays – Victory Day (May 8) and Ascension (May 21).

Therefore, on these days heavy goods vehicles with a GVW over 7.5 t carrying food, hygiene measures (intended for people or animals) and carrying out the transport of materials, components or equipment related to the implementation of public works or construction of buildings will not be subject to truck bans.

The relaxation of the ban will also apply on the eve of each holiday, i.e.

– from 16:00 Thursday, 7 May to 24:00 Friday 8 May,

– from 16: 00 Wednesday, 20 May 20 to 24:00 Thursday, 21 May.
