The demonstrations in France have recently brought millions of citizens to the streets in the form of strikes and work stoppages. The most recent mass outrage in France is a reaction to President Sarkozy’s recent decision not to back down on pension reform.
In response to that Sarkozy ordered break-up of oil depot blokades in Dinge, La Rochelle and Le Mans. According to the government report almost a third of pertol stations were empty or running short, still the French president continued to oppose to pensions system reform, simultanuoulsy foreseeing the damaging effects of strikes on French economy. The results of a survey conveyed by BVA show that almost 60% of people in France are in favour of strikes and 68% having a negative view of the government’s economic policy.
