Germany will accelerate checks at the border with Austria – before the summer holidays!

While Tyrol is making difficult to cross the border with Germany, the Bavarians are trying to alleviate the delays for travellers. The construction of another lane at the border crossing on the A8 near Walsberg has already begun. More control booths will be operating soon.

The Bavarian government decided to accelerate checks at the border with Austria and therefore, began to expand the border crossing. On the A8 motorway, near Walsberg, a third lane will be added, which will minimize the risk of queues at the border crossing. Daniel Schmidt, Bavarian Highway Directorate, announced that an additional lane is to be put into service before the start of holidays in the region, i.e. before 29 July.
