Walkers crisps and Doritos will now travel across the UK in electric trucks, as PepsiCo partners with XPO Logistics to ditch diesel and cut over 1,200 tonnes of CO₂ each year.

XPO Logistics has rolled out six fully electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks in July to handle core deliveries for PepsiCo across England and Wales, aiming to eliminate over 1,200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

The vehicles will operate exclusively within PepsiCo’s UK distribution network, replacing diesel trucks and covering more than 1 million kilometres per year with zero tailpipe emissions.

The eActros 600, recently named International Truck of the Year 2025, offers a real-world range of over 500 kilometres per charge and is designed for long-haul freight operations.

PepsiCo, whose UK portfolio includes brands such as Walkers and Doritos, has committed to reaching net zero by 2050. The company said the new fleet will play a key role in lowering the carbon footprint of its logistics operations.

Andrew Smethurst, UK Logistics Director at PepsiCo, said:

“This new partnership with XPO Logistics will play a vital role in further reducing our logistics emissions as we move iconic products like Walkers crisps and Doritos to our customers across the UK.”

The transition is supported by XPO’s AI-powered CO₂ Reporting Dashboard, which tracks emissions savings in real time and offers optimisation insights to improve logistics efficiency.

The trucks were ordered via SAGA Truck and Van and are expected to begin operations this month.
