GLS takes over a Spanish transport company

The Dutch group General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS) announced the acquisition of the Spanish courier company Redyser Transporte for the amount of EUR 16.5 million. Redyser is a company specialising in express delivery.

The acquisition of Redyser will contribute to the extension of the national offer of GLS Spain and will strengthen its position as the second largest Spanish express mail network, gained by the company after the acquisition of ASM Transporte Urgente in June 2016,” informs GLS in a press release.

Redyser is a supplier from the express delivery segment, which executes approximately 14 million deliveries per annum. The company with its headquarters in Murcia was established in 1991 and operates via a network of over 200 agencies and franchises and 12 own branches in the largest Spanish cities.

According to the daily newspaper „La Vanguardia,” the company’s last year’s turnover reached approx. EUR 45 million.

Following the success achieved after the acquisition of ASM Transport, Redyser will strengthen the strategy of development and expansion of influence on key markets,” emphasises Rico Black, president of the board of GLS.

General Logistics Systems BV (GLS) provides services to over 270,000 customers. The company has over 70 central and regional sorting centers and over 1000 branches. In the financial year 2016/17, the amount of GLS’ revenues was EUR 2.5 billion.
