The Dubai branch will be led by Carsten Sommer, Executive Director, and Samar Helmy, Director of the Project Business Unit Cargo, Air & Ocean. Initially, the office will focus on project cargo and air and sea freight services, with plans to gradually offer Gruber’s full range of logistics services.

“With our local presence in Dubai, we are anchoring our innovative logistics services even more firmly in this region. In this dynamic economic region, there is a strong focus on digitalisation and sustainability, and we are very capable in meeting these client requirements because we have been playing a pioneering role in these topics for years,” said Helmy.

Helmy, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the logistics sector and holds a degree from Harvard, is the first woman of Arab origin to hold an executive role in one of Europe’s leading logistics companies.

The Dubai office, which has been operational for just over a month, will serve as a central hub for Gruber Logistics in the Middle East.
